Database DR Strategy

Hello,

I have an app in the environment Linux / Apache / MySQL / Django. My question is what is your DR strategy in regards to your databases? For example, do backups run by default? on what schedule? what does a restore process look like? Etc.

If you can't tell, I'm a salty old DBA! :)

@wlpsmith, thanks for the great question - it is always nice to hear from a fellow DBA! :)

At the moment, all databases are provided as-is - kind of "non-managed", same as the rest of the data on the machine.

The only back ups we are doing is saving the entire machine state once a day. We'll make it more clear on the pricing/FAQ page.

If there's something you can formulate as a feature request for us, please let me know!

Thank you Philip. A feature request would be to be able to backup the MySQL database for download to restore to a standby server setup a self contained demo environment or otherwise have it for safe keeping.
