Steps:

1) Downloaded the zip 2) installed NPM/Node.js 3) ran yarn install 4) started getting errors related to VC++ etc 5) ran install --global windows-build-tools (realized the command is not able to complete the execution), hence i ran the two files downloaded in the C:\Users\P5104881.windows-build-tools 6) Installed python-2.7.15.amd64 from command prompt 7) install vsBuildTools manually from command prompt 8) still was getting error related to VC++ 9) Followed Michael suggestion and reinstalled everything Install the latest versions of Python (it may not be related), and "Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2017", and of course, Node.js and NPM; As Admin: $ cd "C:\Program Files\nodejs\nodemodules\npm" $ npm install node-gyp $ npm config set msvsversion 2015 --global Note that I have VS 2017, but configuring it as ver 2017 won't work. Not sure why.
